abstract = "Reflective spectroscopy is can be considered a technique for the
analysis of mineralogical components of soils. The soils of
environments with predominance of semiarid climates, need studies
applying remote sensing and spectral behavior to identify the
constituent attributes of the soils, especially the mineralogy. In
this way, the aim of this paper is apply the reflectance
spectroscopy to identify the mineralogical contents in a Luvissolo
Cr{\^o}micos profile, in near infrared and shortwave infrared
spectral range. The applied methods were, reflectance spectroscopy
and XRD, applied methodology for identification of the minerals
were, removal of the continuum, determinate the depth of spectral
feature, and the X-ray diffractograms interpretation. With the
choice of spectral bands, it was possible to identify how the
molecular vibrational processes occur in the minerals found in the
samples. It was possible to identify in the present work a
pedogenic evolution, finding minerals of type 2:1
(montmorillonite, muscovite, illite) as well as 1:1 (as a
kaolinite). The data validation was from the XRD analyzes, by
means of the minerals found: kaolinite, montmorillonite,
muscovite, quartz and goethite. The last two minerals mentioned
have no spectral response in the range. The discretization of the
chosen spectral range was satisfactory for mineralogical
identification of the soils originated in semiarid climates. The
results found in the mineralogical identification were
satisfactory and could be used as an auxiliary technique in soil
science for the identification of clay minerals in soils.",
